SAFE EXPLOSION

Recovered: Alcazar Hotel, SHIPYARDS North Vancouver – LOT 5 – 

The core objects utilized in this sculpture are a Hotel safe,(c 1923) and a large steel plate recovered at the Wallace Shipyards, (c1905,now SEASPAN) The Hotel Safe along with its contents now finds itself "exploding" through the shipyard steel symbolizing all of the opportunity and stories weaved during the industrial beginnings of cities.These stories ripple throughout time defining many aspects of our present economy.
